Ephesus

In the Summer of 2008 we took our family to Ephesus. It was a hot day and we were told to all wear hats and bring plenty of water and snacks. I don't know if the kids really thought it was that great - but I know they'll look back and be glad they got to see it.This is one of my favorite pictures...finding a flower growing out of the wall in Ephesus!Strong Man!!!

Our family was blessed to have a nanny with us for 6 months of last year. This is Valerie and the kids fell in love with her. It was great to have her on vacation with us.

This is the Library. It was the most popular thing to see in Ephesus.
Bri is our artist so I thought someday she'd appreciate this picture next to an old column.

In the background you can see an amphitheatre.

our family photo December 08

Secure in the Everlasting Arms

I'm beginning 2009 with a Family Blog. I've been inspired by so many friends and family that have created one, and now it is our turn. As I was thinking about a theme, I glanced at a new book I was given for Christmas by my friend Kathy. Secure in the Everlasting Arms by Elisabeth Elliot who is one of my favorite authors. I first read one of her books when I was in High School. It must have been the story of her life in Ecuador with husband Jim. I remember thinking after I read that story "Wouldn't that be great to live overseas with your closest friends!" Well, my life has sort of ended up like that. Mike and I married in 1993 and moved overseas in 1997 with 2 small daughters. Those people we served with have become some of our closest and dearest friends.
